Laura Jane Carter has been at the business of painting for almost three decades. Her work has been shown in many galleries in Ontario and in the Maritimes. Her paintings have found homes across North America and in Europe.

Born and raised in a little town on the Niagara Escarpment, her love of rocks and water vistas is inbred. She has no choice but to be a landscape artist. Even her portraits engage landscape.

Upcoming Show, May 2008

Carter will present new work at a show in the Coldwater Gallery, Coldwater, Ontario.

She will share space with photographer Ulrich Kretschmar, a renowned landscape photographer whose work is included in many Canadian Landscape photography books.

Look for new work at Circle Arts Gallery,  opening on The long May weekend and continues until Thanksgiving of each year.

Work can be seen at the Baird Gallery on Duckworth St., St John's, Newfoundland and at the Denison Gallery on Wingold St., off Dufferin in Toronto.        

Stay tuned for more up-coming shows. 

Carter is also hard at work on a series of triptychs drawn from recent trips to North American desert, prairie landscapes and glaciers in South America.
